Hospitality Kampuchea (HoKa)

The Hospitality Kampuchea (HoKa) is an excellent industry-based training model, offering high-quality hospitality vocational training to low-skilled workers. The HoKa training programme is the best need for managers and business owners in the hospitality sector to grow their businesses. Moreover, HoKa contributes to building the capacity of trainers in target Provincial Tourism Departments, enabling them to provide further training to tourism professionals in and around the province. HoKa is implemented in ten target provinces, under the collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism and the Skills Development Programme, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Investing in Culinary Capacity Training for Trainers to Enhance Cambodia’s Hospitality Sector
26 trainers (11 women) from 12 provinces successfully completed a cooking training programme, equipping them with advanced culinary skills to deliver high-quality cooking training. The HoKa Steering Committee is driving the development of hospitality skills to boost tourism in Cambodia.
Supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Liechtenstein Development Agency (LED), the Hospitality Kampuchea (HoKa) Steering Committee gathered in Battambang with key leaders and 60 stakeholders to review progress, address challenges and align strategies for 2025. The meeting included field visits and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at further strengthening hospitality training across Cambodia’s growing tourism sector.

More than 13.000 Cambodian disadvantaged youth and low-skilled workers in 12 provinces will benefit from the Skills Development Programme Phase 3
The SDP Phase 3 from 2024-2028 was officially launched in early 2025 in three provinces of Cambodia, Kampong Chhnang, Battambang and Koh Kong, with the high representative of key ministries, partners and provincial governors. Covering 12 provinces across Cambodia, the overall goal of the Skills Development Programme (SDP) is to improve access to decent employment and increase incomes for disadvantaged young women and men and low-skilled workers.

Perseverance and encouragement led three young Cambodians to turn themselves into successful business owners or managers after taking part in the Hospitality Kampuchea (HoKa) training programme, with the support of the Skills Development Programme (SDP).
