We combine economic progress, social justice, and environmental protection – in every project, partnership, and internal process. Our sustainability strategy demonstrates how we design development cooperation holistically and with a view to the future.

Three dimensions of sustainability

  • Ecological: We promote green skills, resource-efficient solutions, and climate-friendly approaches. For example, in agriculture, energy, or urban development.
  • Social: We strengthen marginalized groups, promote gender equality, and support inclusive education and employment opportunities.
  • Economic: We create access to income, stable markets, and entrepreneurial independence, fostering greater resilience and local value creation.

Swisscontact integrates sustainability into project planning and implementation. We work with clear objectives, indicators, and evaluation systems that make our impact visible – both internally and externally. Our commitment is not only to promote sustainable development, but to embody it.

Our internal organisation is also guided by sustainability principles, including, for example, in resource use, travel management, or human resources development. This ensures consistency between our values and our actions.
