Three Swisscontact Training Models for Cambodia's Hospitality Sector

22.07.2019
Only 1 in 3 hospitality workers in Cambodia has gone through formal education, the rest have directly entered the workforce as drawn by the growing demand of the tourism sector. To improve the quality of service excellence among the workers, the Skills Development Programme (SDP) has been introducing three distinctive hospitality training models – hospitality in-house training, coaching, and full-time training.

The SDP is mandated by theSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Swisscontact implements the first phase of SDP (2016 to 2020) in a consortium with INBAS. The programme aims to increase income and employment opportunities for young women and men in three rural provinces of Cambodia, namely Preah Vihear, Stung Treng and Kratie.
