Protectors of biodiversity: preserving the natural wealth

Sustainable tourism
For more than 30 years, Swisscontact has been dedicated to mitigating global warming and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable communities to the effects of climate change. We have made a strong and enduring commitment to biodiversity conservation, globally and especially in Latin America. In Guatemala, for example, with the Sustainable Mayan Landscapes project, we support the restoration of degraded habitats in the Mayan Biosphere Reserve and promote cultural and nature tourism as a driver of economic development for local communities.
