The system of recognition of acquired competences allows people with practical professional knowledge to certify their competences. People with skills acquired over the years through experience can participate in an evaluation and certification of their competences recognised by the Mozambican State. On July 20, in the Council of Ministers, the government approved the Decree that institutionalizes the System of Recognition of Acquired Skills (SRCA).

The measure will allow for more skilled and certified people to be incorporated into the labour market and, in turn, will allow the country to show its already established professional capacity.

To this end, the RCA pilot project led by the National Vocational Education Authority in partnership with Swisscontact (Skills to Build project) is underway, which will enable the implementation of the system for recognition of acquired skills and experience. The graduation of the first candidates, participating in the pilot project in the welding, plumbing and electricity occupations, is scheduled for September this year.
