Uttoron has taken the initiative to develop a new Competency Standard (CS) for a new training entitled Welding Inspector for the first time in Bangladesh in collaboration with the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA). To develop a high-quality CS, it is imperative to ensure industry participation and gather job and task-related information. To do that Uttoron team recently visited eight industries in Khulna and Chittagong and held meetings with leading industry experts.

There is high demand for certified welding inspectors in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, no such certification course is available locally to become a welding inspector. Therefore, an interested individual must travel abroad to receive such a certification course. The initiative by the Uttoron project will create new avenues of occupation for veteran welders and those interested in gaining expertise in the industry-demanded trade.
