On May 6–7, 2025, the Swisscontact Empower AgriWomen project organized two parallel two-day training courses at the Nizhyn Agro-Technical Institute in Chernihiv region — one focused on dairy livestock farming, the other on horticulture. These hands-on, theoretical-practical trainings aimed to enhance the professional skills of small-scale women farmers and agripreneurs across rural Ukraine.

Training on Livestock Farming

The Livestock Farming training brought together women engaged in or entering the field of dairy production. The theoretical component addressed:

  • Current trends in cattle farming
  • Technological processes at various stages of cattle development
  • Basic feeding principles and ration adjustment
  • Common cattle disease management protocols

Strengthening Learning Infrastructure

To support ongoing training activities and digital literacy, 15 new laptops were delivered to the Nizhyn Agro-Technical Institute through the Empower AgriWomen project. These devices will equip a modern training classroom where participants can access up-to-date learning materials, develop business plans, and strengthen their digital skills — an essential component for modern agribusiness.
