Adding New Crops and More Cultivation Space Increase Income for Farmers

A partnership agreement signed between AgroPeti, a company dealing with medicinal aromatic plants (MAP) and forest fruit, and PPSE will further boost this sector in Kosovo.
Through this new partnership, AgroPeti will acquire a metal detector, a drier and a harvester and will undertake steps to prepare additional 50 hectares of land for cultivation of chamomile, a new crop in the area. Additionally, the company will invest resources in obtaining certification on organic production that will enable the company to export directly to the foreign companies. The main goal of this activity is to increase the volume of production, collection and capacities of AgroPeti; increase the income of farmers involved in the contract farming system and strengthen the capacities of the value chain actors of the MAPs sector, so that they will be able to operate their business efficiently.
