Background

Ghana’s energy sector struggles with high energy costs and unreliable supply in some areas. Solar energy, the country's most abundant renewable resource, offers a sustainable solution but faces adoption barriers, including perceived investment risks, limited financing knowledge, and a lack of independent feasibility assessments. Many users hesitate to pay for unbiased assessments, even though it would help them select the right solar PV system without the provider’s influence. To tackle these issues, AGI Energy Service Centre (AGI-ESC) and Swisscontact Ghana propose the Investment Readiness Platform, offering discounted third-party assessments and streamlined access to technical and financial resources to accelerate renewable energy adoption

Vision

To accelerate Ghana’s shift toward a sustainable energy future by making renewable energy investments more accessible, trusted, and impactful — through independent assessments, tailored skills development, and inclusive access to the resources that power a greener economy. If more SMEs and others access third party assessment, they are likely to carry out the assessment and invest in the transition.
