SDP Insitutionalization

The Skills Development Programme (SDP) is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The SDP is currently in its 2nd phase (2020 to 2024) which is implemented by Swisscontact, an independent, non-profit organisation based in Zürich/ Switzerland, in a consortium with INBAS and in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT)and the Ministry of Tourism (MoT). The programme works closely with the government at the national and the provincial levels and with partners such as the National Employment Agency (NEA),public and non-governmental training providers as well as companies and small enterprises in the hospitality and other sectors.

The SDP pursues two main objectives in phase 2:

  • Firstly, the Cambodian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system will be supported to become more effective in the five target provinces, and secondly, disadvantaged young women and men and low-skilled workers will improve their employability (technical, soft and entrepreneurship skills).
  • The overall goal of SDP is disadvantaged young women and men and low-skilled workers have gained access to decent employment and increased income.
