The Private Sector as a Partner

The private sector is the engine of economic development; it generates income and jobs. Working for and with the private sector is therefore at the heart of Swisscontact’s activities.

One example is our collaboration with fertilizer manufacturers, the aim of which is to introduce organic fertilizers to the market. Thanks to these new fertilizers, smallholder farmers can improve their harvests, by which they increase sales and finally their incomes.

Partnerships with private sector companies involve contributions made by both sides. The private sector makes in-kind contributions with time, effort, and facilities to conduct activities. The majority of partners make cash contributions.
