El proyecto

Since 2011, Swisscontact has been active in the rural vocational training programme, in particular in the implementation of five education and training measures in the regions of Dosso and Maradi.

The aim of the programme is to provide quality vocational training adapted to socio-economic realities for girls and boys aged 14 to 35, in order to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need for their fulfilment, development and socio-economic inclusion.

Resultados

Over the past ten years, the programme has contributed significantly to improving vocational training provision in the Dosso and Maradi regions. This has included the expansion of vocational training provision in both urban and rural areas, particularly through the creation and equipping of 45 training centres and sites. In addition, a network of specialists in training technology and youth counselling and inclusion was established.

The programme provided quality vocational training for 36 652 young people, 50% of whom were women.
