CAMESCO

Cambodia’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Strengthening Conference (CAMESO) is an annual event for the Cambodian entrepreneurial ecosystem aims at serving as a platform to connect relevant stakeholders, including start-ups, ESOs, ecosystem builders, government agencies, local and regional / international investors, the regional and global network organisations, as well as organisations seeking opportunities in Cambodia. 

Background

We piloted CAMESCO through the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Building Project (EEB), a joint collaboration with Khmer Enterprise, USAID’s WE Act Project through Pact Cambodia, and Swisscontact. CAMESCO is envisioned as a regular annual conference for all the ecosystem actors to strengthen deal flows in Cambodia. 

Was successfully organized CAMESCO 22 to recap the year-round progress of the 10 Give a Day, 3 Ecosystem Builder Network (EBN), and other ecosystem-strengthening meetings that took place in 2022. CAMESCO was also integrated into the Collaborations Pillar under the Enhancing Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Investments (3Ei) initiative in 2023 to ensure the continued support for the benefits of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambodia.

Objectives

  • Enabling Comprehensive Overview: provide a recap year-round summary of Cambodia entrepreneurial ecosystem initiative and its current status.
  • Increasing Awareness of Opportunities: increase awareness of new programmes, regional and global initiatives, and investment opportunities within Cambodia's entrepreneurial ecosystem. By disseminating relevant information, CAMESCO helps to empower entrepreneurs and stakeholders to capitalise on emerging prospects and build successful ventures.
  • Attracting International Investors: attract international investors who are seeking opportunities in Cambodia. By showcasing the country's potential and highlighting success stories, we create an attractive and conducive environment for regional investment. Through strategic matchmaking and networking opportunities, CAMESCO aims at facilitating fruitful partnerships between international investors/ecosystem actors, promising Cambodian ventures, and local ecosystem actors.
  • Catalysing Connections and Networking: serves as a platform that connects and fosters networking among ecosystem actors, national and regional organisations, and international investors. By facilitating dialogue and interaction, CAMESCO helps fostering a culture of cooperation and mutual support, generating synergies that drive collective growth.

Vision

The vision is to be the go-to signature event for entrepreneurial ecosystems, impact investing and blended finance information, opportunities, and networking in Cambodia. CAMESCO aims to be a driving force behind the growth and development of Cambodia's entrepreneurial ecosystem by fostering collaboration, information sharing, and international connections. With CAMESCO, the brand strives to provide a comprehensive platform that brings together ecosystem actors, national and regional organisations, and international investors, catalysing opportunities and advancements that will empower entrepreneurs and drive sustainable progress in Cambodia.

2022
CAMESO22 identified key calls of action for 2023
Khmer Enterprise, USAID via Pact, GIZ, and Swisscontact successfully organised Cambodia’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Strengthening Conference 2022 (CAMESCO22), the first in a series of annual conferences. The event brought together 167 participants from over 100 organisations, including investors, ESOs, intermediaries, development partners, government representatives and identified 9 key calls of action to be followed up in 2023.
2023
CAMESCO23 convened ecosystem actors to explore innovative SME finance
The CAMESCO23 event under the 3Ei initiative convened ecosystem actors to explore innovative financing approaches for SMEs in Cambodia. Held on 8 December 2023, the event brought together 182 participants from 90 institutions, including 24 regional and international ecosystem actors, and featured 9 regional and global speakers. We organised 2 side workshops alongside the conference focusing on blended finance structures and global accelerator model. The discussions highlighted global practices in capital mobilisation, accelerator effectiveness, and inclusive approaches such as gender lens investing to support a more balanced entrepreneurial environment.
2024
CAMESCO24 emphasised collaboration to strengthen the impact
The CAMESCO24 event under the 3Ei initiative convened ecosystem actors to reflect on efforts to strengthen Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem under the theme “Power of Collaboration for Impact.” Held on 25 November 2024, the conference brought together 168 participants representing more than 100 institutions from Cambodia and abroad, and featured 12 speakers from regional and international organisations. We organised discussions around two thematic tracks focusing on impact investing and entrepreneurial ecosystem development. The event also marked the official pre-launch of GSG Impact Cambodia National Partner, aimed at supporting investors to identify and advance impact investment opportunities in Cambodia.
2025
CAMESCO25 advanced dialogue on catalysing systemic impact
The CAMESCO25 event under the 3Ei initiative convened ecosystem actors under the theme “From Collaboration to Catalysing Systemic Impact.” Held on 21 November 2025, the conference brought together 294 participants representing 196 local and international institutions, including 22 regional and international actors. The event featured 17 regional and international speakers. Discussions focused on priorities emerging from the ecosystem roadmap, including blended finance, climate and regional investment trends, and inclusive entrepreneurship to unlock and scale impact.
