GO4IMPact Supports Pre-Budget Consultations to Promote Inclusive and Climate-Responsive Local Budgeting
In Bangladesh’s rural and urban governance systems, budget preparation is no longer viewed as a solely administrative or top-down process. It is increasingly being recognised as a participatory platform for engaging communities in shaping local development priorities. With this objective, the Swiss government supported GO4IMPact programme is facilitating pre-budget meetings across Municipalities and Union Parishads (UPs) in climate vulnerable districts- Naogaon and Satkhira. The initiative focuses on strengthening the participatory budgeting processes of Local Government Institutions (LGIs) by promoting greater inclusion, accountability, and responsiveness to local-level needs.
GO4IMPact Strenthens Climate-Resilient Local Governance Through District-Level Collaboration in Bangladesh
GO4IMPact (G4I) is deepening district-level collaboration in Bangladesh through a series of inception workshops. On 23rd and 27th April 2025, G4I brought together Local Government Institutions (LGIs), deconcentrated government agencies, NGOs, youth groups, private sector representatives, and media stakeholders.

To mark World Water Day 2025, the GO4IMPact project, funded by the Embassy of Switzerland, implemented by WaterAid, Swisscontact, ESDO and Rupantar, mobilised communities across Naogaon and Satkhira to take action for water conservation, responsible usage, and pollution prevention.
