The session formed part of the Implementers Strategic Sector Research (ISSR) on Climate Change and was expertly facilitated by Maxwell Beganim, a seasoned climate change consultant engaged by IMPLEMENTERS. With extensive experience in environmental sustainability and stakeholder coordination, Maxwell led a dynamic and participatory session aimed at gathering insights and recommendations from key actors across diverse sectors.
Participants were drawn from academia, government institutions, the renewable energy sector, communications, consultancy, and youth- and women-led organizations. The discussions explored gaps in Ghana’s climate action landscape and proposed collaborative solutions that align with national development goals.
“This session was a reminder that tackling climate change requires all voices scientific, policy, community, and private sector. The dialogue was not only informative but also energizing.”
— Ruby Damenshie-Brown, Women For Sustainability Africa
“Bringing everyone to the table, especially youth and women-led groups helps shape solutions that are practical and inclusive. This engagement moved the conversation from ideas to action.”— Daniel Ntiamoah Danquah ,Implementers
This engagement comes at a time when climate change continues to threaten communities worldwide. Rising temperatures, extreme weather, and resource depletion are already impacting lives and livelihoods, particularly across the Global South. In Ghana, key sectors such as agriculture, water, and energy are especially vulnerable to climate disruptions, with rural and low-income communities facing the greatest risk.
Inclusive platforms like the ISSR stakeholder engagement are essential to driving practical, context-specific climate solutions. By convening diverse voices, such sessions contribute to a shared understanding of challenges and open the door to more resilient and responsive policies
While Swisscontact Ghana was not directly involved in planning or facilitating the program, we are proud to have provided the space for this timely and impactful dialogue. We remain committed to supporting partnerships that advance climate resilience and sustainable development in Ghana.
