Study Tour and Bootcamp

The Study Tour and Bootcamp strengthen Cambodia’s entrepreneurial support system by engaging local Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) in immersive regional learning and collaborative problem-solving.

Background

In an emerging market like Cambodia, ESOs play an important role in growing the start-ups and enterprises through creating a flourishing environment and quality service offerings. To respond to the need supporting the ESOs to enhance their capacity and service offering, 3Ei initiative launched the Study Tour and Bootcamp under the IA1: Collaboration Pillar. The Study Tour strengthen the capabilities and innovation among the ESOs in Cambodia through experiential exposure, gain insights into best practices, and broaden their regional networks, which ultimately contribute to the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambodia.  Bootcamp is a follow-up activity aimed at creating a space for participants to reflect and create a solution using the inspiration and information they have gained from the Study Tour and co-create innovation solutions in addressing challenges of the ecosystem.

Objectives

  • Enhanced Understanding of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Dynamic: the initiative aims at providing a comprehensive understanding of the critical components and dynamics that contribute to the success of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Malaysia through direct interactions with government agencies and ESOs.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices: the initiative actively supports ESOs to learn and be able to apply the best practices from leading ESOs and start-ups, particularly those that have developed sustainable accelerator models, facilitated by meetings and interactions during the Study Tour.
  • Established Networks: the initiative fosters valuable connections and networks with a diverse group of stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, investors, government agencies, academics, and ESOs through organised meetings and sessions during the Study Tour and the Bootcamp.
  • Strategic Solutions for Cambodia’s Ecosystem: The initiative provides space for the ESOs to develop actionable strategies and innovative solutions tailored to address the specific challenges within Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. We will achieve through the co-creating workshop hackathon during the Bootcamp, where participants utilise insights from the Study Tour to reflect and co-create solutions.
  • Actionable and Innovative Solutions: the initiative invites participants to submit concept notes outlining innovative solutions to address challenges in Cambodia's entrepreneurial ecosystem. We will awarded a USD 15,000 grant to the most promising solution to pilot its idea, promoting practical implementation and real impact of Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
