Ato Kwamina Addo is a development professional with extensive experience in sustainable agriculture, cocoa and tree crops value chains, and project management across West Africa. He brings strong field-based and systems-oriented expertise in climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, and multi-stakeholder coordination, supporting inclusive and market-driven solutions that improve farmer livelihoods and resilience. 

Before joining Swisscontact Ghana as Senior Project Officer, Ato worked with leading international and regional organizations including the Fairtrade Foundation, the Netherlands Food Partnership and CERATH Development Organization. His work spanned Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, where he led and supported projects focused on certification, climate resilience, agroforestry adoption, and value chain performance improvement in cocoa and other tree crops. 

At Swisscontact, Ato contributes to the design and implementation of transformative agriculture initiatives under the Sustainable Agriculture pillar of the Umbrella Approach, including the Agroforestry Skills and Knowledge Initiative (ASKI). He combines strategic planning with hands-on implementation, bringing a strong commitment to climate-resilient agriculture, private-sector engagement, and scalable development impact.
