He built a culture grounded in trust, collaboration, accountability, and excellence. As Nana Kwakyewaa, the first employee he recruited in Ghana, reflected, Rajiv “didn't just set up an office, he set a tone.” Through his leadership, Swisscontact Ghana grew into a dynamic team united by a shared commitment to creating opportunities and delivering impact.
Since joining Swisscontact Ghana, many colleagues had the opportunity to witness Rajiv's vision, courage, and determination to build something meaningful from the ground up. Team members frequently highlighted his strong belief in young professionals and his willingness to create opportunities for others to grow. Eugene Masiku reflected that ''Rajiv's confidence in people and commitment to developing talent left a lasting impact on both careers and personal growth.'' While Swisscontact Ghana is stronger today because of his leadership, his most enduring legacy will be the people he inspired, empowered, and prepared for the future.
Similarly, Robert Afful reflected that ''Rajiv's greatest contribution was not simply assigning responsibilities but helping people believe in themselves. Through the trust and confidence, he extended to team members, many found themselves taking on challenges they once considered beyond their reach.''
Throughout his tenure, Rajiv became known not only for his strategic leadership but also for the confidence he inspired in others. Many team members spoke about how he saw potential in them before they saw it in themselves. Araba Ampomah. reflected on how he “believed in what we were capable of, even when we doubted ourselves,” while several colleagues shared how his trust encouraged them to take on responsibilities they once thought were beyond their reach.
His investment in people became one of the defining features of his leadership. Several team members described how opportunities provided under his guidance became turning points in their careers. Gabriel Annan recalled how ''Rajiv recognized strengths in him that he had not yet discovered himself and created pathways for growth that transformed his professional journey.'' Others echoed similar sentiments, expressing gratitude for a leader who consistently opened doors, nurtured potential, and challenged individuals to achieve more than they thought possible.
Rajiv's leadership style was also marked by a strong belief in learning, innovation, and problem-solving. Pierre, who first encountered Rajiv through Swisscontact many years ago, described him as ''someone with a remarkable ability to bring people together, solve complex challenges, and build ecosystems of motivated individuals working toward a common goal. That same vision was evident in Ghana, where he helped establish strong partnerships, ambitious programmes, and a capable team ready to continue building on the foundation he created.''
At the same time, Rajiv never lost sight of the human side of leadership. Team members consistently highlighted his approachability, humility, and genuine care for people. Alice noted that, ''like an open door, he created opportunities for others to learn and grow.'' For many, he was more than a manager. He was a mentor, a trusted advisor, and a source of encouragement during moments of uncertainty. His willingness to listen, guide, and support colleagues left a lasting impression across the entire team.
His ability to blend professionalism with humor also became one of his defining qualities. Whether sharing a memorable quote, offering practical advice, or reminding the team that a challenge was “not rocket science,” Rajiv had a way of bringing perspective and optimism to every situation.
Stephanie Lartey fondly recalled his jokes and his unique ability to make even the most difficult tasks seem achievable. These moments helped create a workplace culture where people felt both supported and inspired.
Much of Rajiv's influence can also be seen in the values he championed. Team members repeatedly spoke about lessons they will carry throughout their careers: thinking big, embracing challenges, taking calculated risks, building strong systems, and maintaining a solutions-oriented mindset. As Shadrach Klome reflected, one of the most enduring lessons Rajiv shared was to “Think Big, Be Brave, Fail Fast, Take Risks”, words that continue to inspire confidence and action long after they are spoken.
His impact reached every corner of the organization. Bernadine, despite joining the team only recently, noted the positive culture he helped build and the visible influence he had across Swisscontact Ghana. Ato Kwamina Addo described him as ''hardworking, fearless, solution-oriented, and unwavering in his focus on finding practical solutions, qualities that encouraged others to approach challenges with confidence and determination.''
Beyond professional achievements, perhaps Rajiv's greatest legacy lies in the relationships he built. Colleagues describe him as a leader who led with both competence and compassion, balancing high expectations with genuine care for people. Kofi Anim captured the shared sentiment of many when he noted that while Rajiv excelled in his work, what truly distinguished him was that he was “an even better human being.”
As Rajiv embarks on the next chapter of his journey with his family, he leaves behind a team that is stronger, more confident, and deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside him. His leadership has shaped careers, strengthened institutions, inspired innovation, and empowered people to believe in themselves.
On behalf of the entire Swisscontact Ghana team, thank you, Rajiv, for your leadership, mentorship, humor, trust, and unwavering commitment to people. Thank you for believing in us, challenging us, and empowering us to achieve more than we imagined possible.
As Dr. Akwasi humorously put it, “Go show rocket science who's boss.”
We wish you good health, happiness, success, and fulfillment in the journey ahead. While your time in Ghana may have come to an end, the impact you leave behind will continue to be felt for many years to come.
