On March 24, Swisscontact participated in the official opening of the next phase of the SEED educational project in Ukraine (SEED 5.0). As a global participant of the UN Global Compact, Swisscontact is proud to support this initiative at the national level by contributing expert topics and speakers to the program's training modules.

The SEED project serves as a vital platform for dialogue among businesses, investors, civil society, and the government. It creates opportunities for developing, scaling, and launching new initiatives, particularly in the agribusiness sector. Participants receive not only comprehensive knowledge and practical tools but also mentorship support and access to financial opportunities to bring their ideas to life.

During the online opening event, Vitaliy Radko, Project Manager of "Empower AgriWomen" at Swisscontact, addressed the organizers and participants, emphasizing the critical role of strategic partnerships in today's environment.

"It is a great honor to partner with the SEED project in Ukraine and contribute to its implementation. Specifically, through our Empower AgriWomen project, implemented by Swisscontact, we are working to strengthen the economic capacity of women in the agricultural sector and develop small and micro-businesses in local communities. Today, we are all in the same context, working through similar challenges, and looking for solutions together. That is why partnership between our initiatives is not just important—it is essential for achieving systemic change. "

It was also highlighted that the UN Global Compact Ukraine unites businesses operating in accordance with sustainable development principles, combining economic efficiency with social and environmental responsibility. In the context of a full-scale war, these approaches form the foundation for Ukraine's economic recovery and long-term resilience.

"We are united by a shared commitment to sustainable development, responsible business, and the belief that innovation, collaboration, and human perseverance can create a lasting positive impact," Radko added. "I wish everyone inspiration, productive collaboration, and bold decisions that will drive positive change. Let this project become a space for growth, discoveries, and new opportunities for each of you. Together we can do more. Together we shape a resilient future. "

Through this continued partnership, Swisscontact reaffirms its dedication to empowering Ukrainian agripreneurs and building a resilient, sustainable agricultural sector for the future.

The project strengthens the Ukrainian agricultural sector by supporting female farmers in the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions with training, resources, business contacts, and financing opportunities. This enables them to build successful small enterprises and contribute to food security.
