Organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Business Promotion Centre (BPC), and key local organizations—including the Bangladesh Engineers Industry Owners’ Association (BEIOA), Foundry Owners Association (FOA), and Bangladesh Auto Major and Machineries Association (BAMMA)—the fair was designed to create new market opportunities for local manufacturers. It brought together entrepreneurs, manufacturers, government representatives, and business development service providers to advance business linkages within Bogura’s thriving LE sector.
The fair featured 58 stalls showcasing cutting-edge engineering products, reinforcing Bogura’s manufacturing capabilities. Private sector partners, including MIT Park, Innovision, and iFarmer, contributed by offering digital solutions and financial linkages to local entrepreneurs.
The event also provided a dynamic platform for networking and knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration between manufacturers, buyers, and investors. Industry-focused seminars, business-to-business (B2B) meetings, and networking sessions enabled discussions on market expansion, technology adoption, and financial accessibility for small and medium enterprises. Cultural programs celebrated Bogura’s rich heritage, adding vibrancy to the fair.
A major highlight of the fair was the engagement of key government bodies such as the Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC), the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Bogura Municipality, and the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC). These institutions shared valuable insights on sectoral challenges, digital transformation, and strategies to improve access to finance.
The fair’s overarching theme, "Creating Business Linkages in the Light Engineering Sector," aligned with BEIOA’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes advanced technology, branding, and digitalization. Looking ahead, the focus remains on expanding technical training programs, enhancing quality control, and fostering global partnerships to solidify Bogura’s position as a leader in light engineering innovation.
The PRABRIDDHI - Local Economic Development (LED) project, funded by the Government of Bangladesh and Switzerland, and implemented by the Local Government Division (LGD) and Swisscontact, have been working to strengthen Bogura’s LE sector, promoting technology adoption and financial growth. With its continued commitment to innovation and collaboration, PRABRIDDHI’s efforts are set to propel Bogura’s LE sector toward sustained growth and broader market recognition. The Light Engineering Products and Technology Fair 2025 has laid the groundwork for long-term industry success, ensuring Bogura remains a key player in Bangladesh’s manufacturing landscape.
