The international team of SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern joined Swisscontact Georgia and local partner KMS in Tbilisi to officially kick off the inception phase of the Private Sector Engagement in Vocational Education and Training (PSE-VET) project.

The purpose of the visit was to begin co-creating a business model for a future private sector-owned hospitality school in Georgia, working closely with the PSE-VET team and local stakeholders. A series of dynamic workshops brought together general managers and HR leaders from Georgia’s leading hospitality groups, while strategic meetings with hospitality business owners further explored the vision and commitment behind the project.

What became clear throughout the visit is the strong motivation and untapped potential within Georgia’s hospitality industry. The next steps will focus on formalizing private sector commitment and shaping a self-sustaining, demand-driven hospitality training center that reflects both international standards and local needs.

Funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), this initiative sets the stage for establishing a Swiss-standard Hospitality Training Centre in Georgia.
