The session began with a reflection on the outcomes of ReCircle Ghana Meetings 1 and 2. Members revisited discussions around strengthening collaboration within Ghana’s recycling ecosystem and building a unified network that promotes sustainable circular economy practices. This recap set the tone for the day’s activities, emphasizing how far the network has come since its inception.
Insights gathered through Mentimeter feedback of participants from the previous session, specifically ReCircle Ghana meeting 2, were used to shape proposed statements for the network’s Vision, Mission, and Key Strategies. The process demonstrated the network’s participatory approach, ensuring that every voice within the community contributes to defining its shared goals and direction.
A major focus of the third ReCircle Ghana meeting was the validation of the network’s proposed vision, mission, and key strategies. Building on feedback gathered from participants during the previous session via Mentimeter, members were divided into two breakout groups to review and refine these guiding statements. One group focused on the vision and mission, assessing their clarity, alignment, and relevance to the recycling ecosystem in Ghana, while the other group examined the key strategies to ensure they were practical and responsive to sector needs. The session was highly interactive, with participants sharing insightful contributions and suggestions for improvement. These inputs will be consolidated into a final document, serving as an essential reference for the ReCircle Ghana Roadmap currently in development.
Another highlight of the session was a presentation by Implementers Ghana on the second edition of the Climate Forward Summit, an initiative that brings together leaders and innovators driving climate solutions in Ghana and beyond.
The presentation opened conversations on how ReCircle Ghana could play a role in the summit, leading to the announcement of a strategic partnership between both platforms. Through this collaboration, ReCircle Ghana will have the opportunity to amplify the voice of recyclers and circular economy actors, showcasing the network’s contribution to climate action, resource efficiency, and green job creation.
This partnership underscores ReCircle Ghana’s growing influence as a unifying platform that connects sustainability efforts across industries and policy spaces.
The third ReCircle Ghana meeting concluded with a strong sense of optimism and shared purpose. Members reaffirmed their commitment to driving innovation, strengthening collaboration, and supporting inclusive growth within Ghana’s recycling sector.
The validation of the Vision, Mission, and Key Strategies marks a pivotal moment in the network’s journey — setting the stage for structured action and measurable impact. Going forward, ReCircle Ghana will continue to serve as a space for dialogue, learning, and joint initiatives that advance the country’s transition toward a circular economy.
