Due to the increased work volume, Afërdita and her team are working in more shifts during the week, and she adds two part-time workers as needed to meet the increased demand. It is now easier for Afërdita to keep up with more demand due to upgraded processing capacities (with bottle filling and closing machines) that she acquired with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation through the project Promoting Private Sector Employment.
“In the first few days of the lockdown, people were more focused in buying essential food items. Now, the demand for my products is increasing, because they help strengthen the immunity,” says Afërdita.
Although the market which used to be her main selling point is now closed, customers can find the various juices she makes in the other regular selling points, i.e. pharmacies, shops selling bio foods, and grocery stores.
In addition, Afërdita now has her hands full also with getting ready a new greenhouse of 1 are where she will cultivate strawberries.
