Theme: Beyond Direct Provision: Unlocking Sustainable, Private Sector-Led WASH Markets in Turkana
As Kenya advances the implementation of the Refugees Act, 2021, the Shirika Plan, and broader commitments to sustainable and inclusive service delivery, the WASH sector stands at a critical juncture. The challenge is no longer how to sustain services through direct provision alone, but how to build resilient systems that strengthen local enterprises, attract investment, and deliver lasting impact for communities.
Co-convened by Swisscontact and Plan International Kenya, the PS4WASH Forum 2026 will bring together government, donors, development and humanitarian partners, private sector actors, financiers, and community representatives to explore practical pathways for sustainable, market-led WASH service delivery. More than a consultative meeting, the forum is an action-oriented platform that supports a coordinated transition towards sustainable WASH markets and stronger local service delivery systems, while advancing national conversations on localization, self-reliance, innovative financing, and public-private collaboration in refugee-hosting and underserved communities.
Join us to shape the partnerships, investments, and solutions needed to build sustainable WASH systems in Turkana and beyond.
