Swisscontact Empower AgriWomen project, has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Chernihiv Regional Development Agency.

The document was signed by Poshan Bahadur KC, Country Director of Swisscontact Ukraine representing the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation, and Iryna Simonova, Director of the Chernihiv Regional Development Agency.

The main goal of the Memorandum is to expand opportunities for the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector of Chernihiv Oblast, in particular through:

  • enhancing the qualifications and skills of the target group,
  • ensuring access to informational, economic, and financial resources,
  • providing business development support services,
  • supporting institutional development,
  • disseminating information and strengthening cooperation with relevant stakeholders.

The cooperation envisaged by this Memorandum includes providing informational support, consulting assistance, and organizing joint activities to support women entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector.

One of the promising areas of joint work will be the establishment of a Women’s Agribusiness Support Office in Chernihiv Oblast.

Empower AgriWomen 
The project strengthens the Ukrainian agricultural sector by supporting female farmers in the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions with training, resources, business contacts, and financing opportunities. This enables them to build successful small enterprises and contribute to food security.
