Following a rigorous external audit of its monitoring and results measurement, a project implemented by Swisscontact in Kosovo achieved one of the best results of formally audited projects to date.

The project "Promoting Private Sector Employment - PPSE" in Kosovo aims to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of SMEs in the food and tourism sectors. Its goal is to create jobs in the private sector and better income opportunities. PPSE is a Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation project that is implemented by Swisscontact. The project interventions and activities are constantly monitored for their impact. The measurement is based on Swisscontact's internal guidelines. These guidelines, in turn, are based on the standard of the "Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED)".

Fantastic result with a learning effect

The DCED also offers to examine the results measurements system of projects according to objective criteria. PPSE recently underwent such an audit. The results are impressive: the project's impact measurement not only conforms to the DCED standard, it even achieved a brilliant score.

Fisnik Bajrami, who is responsible for impact measurement at PPSE, says: “The DCED audit provided the PPSE team with a great opportunity to validate our work so far. Just as importantly, it enabled us to deepen the learning through the process further, as the team has been following the DCED Standard based on Swisscontact’s Manual for Monitoring and Results measurement since its inception. Monitoring and results measurement is a collective team effort, and such was this achievement as well.”

The DCED has already congratulated the PPSE team via Twitter and published the final report on its website.
