From Dialogue to Direction: ReCircle 4, Ghana Charts Its Course for 2026

24.03.2026
The first ReCircle Ghana meeting of 2026 set a clear and intentional tone for the year ahead, bringing together members of the network to strengthen collaboration and define a more structured path forward for Ghana’s circular economy ecosystem. Held on 4th March 2026 at the Maiden Environment Services office, the session convened members of the growing network to advance discussions around coordination, collaboration, and collective action within Ghana’s recycling ecosystem.

Building a Structured and Inclusive Working Group

Discussions opened with a focus on strengthening the ReCircle Ghana working group. Members emphasized the need for a guiding framework to clearly define the group’s purpose, structure, and direction.

Complementing this was the call for well-defined selection criteria to ensure a transparent and structured membership process. Together, these tools are expected to shape a more coordinated and accountable working group.

Both the guiding framework and selection criteria will be developed and shared with members for review and input. Following this process, interested individuals will confirm their participation, reinforcing commitment and active engagement within the group.

Aligning Towards the Climate Forward Summit

A significant part of the meeting focused on preparations toward the Climate Forward Summit by Implementers Ghana Members explored strategies for building an effective awareness campaign and identified opportunities to engage the public ahead of the summit.

While several ideas were proposed for both pre- and post-summit engagement, priority was given to activities that could generate momentum in the lead-up to the event.

These initiatives are intended to increase visibility, drive public interest, and position the network as an active force within Ghana’s circular economy space.

Strengthening Ecosystem Insight and Collaboration

The meeting also featured a presentation on ecosystem analysis and the broader entrepreneurial landscape. Members were invited to contribute additional insights to refine and finalize the analysis, ensuring it reflects the realities and opportunities within the sector.

To support this process, a feedback form was shared, alongside discussions to improve the working group application form. It was agreed that revisions would be made after the guiding framework and selection criteria are finalized.

Looking Ahead

As ReCircle Ghana steps into 2026, the outcomes of this first meeting signal a shift from dialogue to intentional structure and coordinated action. By strengthening its internal systems while actively engaging the broader public, the network is positioning itself to play a more influential role in advancing Ghana’s circular economy agenda.
