Facilitating partnerships for digital financial services

The PRABRIDDHI project facilitated an agreement between Shibganj municipality and bKash, the leading Mobile Financial Service Provider in Bangladesh, to digitize municipal services.

Following the agreement signed on 15th March 2022, bills for different municipal services of Shibganj such as holding tax, trade license, and other service fees will be collected through bKash. 

This will enable citizens of Shibganj to pay certain bills more conveniently. The municipality will benefit from fast processing and collection of payment.

Mr. S.M. Belal Ahmed, Vice President, Business Development represented bKash during the signing ceremony. He regarded this agreement as a significant milestone towards achieving the goals of Digital Bangladesh.

PRABRIDDHI is a Local Economic Development project, funded by the Governments of Switzerland and Bangladesh and implemented by Swisscontact and Local Government Division.
