As climate action becomes a global imperative, Ghana is taking bold steps to ensure its industries are not left behind. A key intervention leading this charge is the Decarbonization and Carbon Accounting Training, a strategic initiative designed to strengthen the industrial sector’s ability to measure, track, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Spearheaded by the AGI Energy Service Centre (AGI-ESC) in collaboration with Swisscontact Ghana, the training reflects a growing urgency to equip local industries and consultants with the technical skills needed to meet both domestic and international climate standards.
AGI-ESC, which already runs four carbon accounting courses annually, is now enhancing its program to deliver a more comprehensive approach—one that combines emissions tracking with practical decarbonisation planning. The revamped training has been expanded from two to four days, offering a hands-on experience that blends technical knowledge with real-world applications. It’s designed to empower companies and consultants alike to take meaningful climate action while aligning with Ghana’s broader sustainability goals.
