Coaching Cycle for Employment and Entrepreneurship training – Block 3

The VTESS project implemented the Coaching Cycle for Employment and Entrepreneurship training activity- Block 3 between 12-16 December 2022 in the Lao Front for National Development Training Center in Vientiane Capital. The event included 25 participants (including 17 females) from five provinces (OudomxayXiengkhuang, XayabulyKhammuan, and Salavanh), two trainers from Lucerne University Switzerland and Swisscontact Albania, and the VTESS project team.

The objectives of this training event are to exchange coaches' experiences of organizing activities with local levels, to explore the diversity field of careers; to give coaches advice on writing the Individual Development Plan and understanding their role; and to understand the entire process of arranging activities with the Community. Furthermore, the objectives included assisting participants in properly understanding the administrative role as well as technological concerns. 

Throughout the five training days, the participants learned and practiced developing skill activities such as working as a group, preparing a presentation, role play activities, exchanging ideas in the Fishbowl game, planning activities, evaluating the day, having training, and other activities that coaches will use with their participants in the future.

VTESS is a project of the Government of the Lao PDR and the Government of Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. It is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and the consortium of Swisscontact and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. 

 

The next training event - Block 4th - will be held between January 31st and February 3rd, 2022.

The VTESS project aims at vocational training and labour market insertion or re-entering of schooling of the main project beneficiaries, who are people between 15 and 35 years of age, have completed primary and/ or lower secondary education only (early school leavers), and are subjected to income poverty. The main objective of the project is to improve the income and, ultimately, the livelihood of its beneficiaries.
