ASTHA signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prime Bank Foundation 

Community Paramedics (CP) are gradually becoming the first line of primary healthcare providers in rural Bangladesh. As a project dedicated to improving the rural healthcare ecosystem in Bangladesh, ASTHA is working to strengthen the Community Paramedic (CP) service provision by improving the service portfolio of the CPs. Prime Bank Eye Hospital (PBEH), one of the initiatives of the Prime bank Foundation (Prime Bank Foundation - Home | Facebook) is closely working for the betterment of the eye care for the population of Bangladesh. Accordingly, ASTHA project and PBEH will work together to improve the CP service portfolio by providing primary level ophthalmology training to the CPs. Through this MoU, Prime Bank Foundation and ASTHA will develop a module to provide ophthalmology training to the CPs in the different parts of Bangladesh and explore opportunities to increase CP service provision.

Mr. Fazle Razik, Team leader of ASTHA, Swisscontact and Dr. Iqbal Anwar, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank Foundation led the MoU signing ceremony while, 
Labib Tazone, coordinator, Prime Bank Eye Hospital, Prime Bank foundation oversight team and Trina Hasan, Senior Officer – Partnership and Innovation, ASTHA, Swisscontact were present at the event.
