Advancing Women’s Leadership in Agribusiness: Experience Sharing and New Perspectives

Women from the Chernihiv region are strengthening their role in agribusiness by developing leadership skills and partnerships through a study visit to Lutsk under the Empower AgriWomen project.  

On 11–13 December 2025, within the Empower AgriWomen project, women entrepreneurs and farmers from the Chernihiv region took part in an intensive learning visit to Lutsk.

The visit became a platform for sharing hands-on experience, strengthening leadership skills, and building new partnerships among women who are transforming Ukraine’s agricultural sector.  

Agenda included: 

  • Learning: Trainings on rural women’s leadership and market access strategies through e-commerce and joint sales models.  
  • Practice: A visit to YARYNA-AGRO Farm to explore innovative management approaches, as well as to the AgroHobby Garden Center.  
  • Social impact: Introduction to inclusive initiatives by the NGO “Charivne Yangolyatko” and the “Greenhouse Start” initiative.  
  • Inspiration: A cultural program at the Korsaks’ Museum of Modern Ukrainian Art.

Participants highly valued the opportunity to see real-life business cases and establish connections for future cooperation. Learning visits are not only about gaining knowledge—they also provide a powerful boost for local community development and for strengthening women’s role in the economy.  

Sharing hands-on experience 

The study visit was implemented by the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation for Development (Swisscontact) in partnership with the Cooperative Academy, the Chernihiv Regional Development Agency, and the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
