RESULTS/IMPACT

Pre-design and design of this project has successfully led to a pilot project to Implement, monitor and evaluate the pilot initiative as well as identify and secure co financing for scale up. The main goal and objective of the project is to transform the accessibility of the general health system for underserved populations in rural and peri-urban areas of Kenya, leveraging private investment and public support. 

OUR ROLE

Pre design tasks undertaken:

  1. Engagement with key internal stakeholders, garnering essential insights, perspectives, and buy-in crucial for project success.
  2. Proposed detailed methodology, budget & workplan for design phase and elaborate and update the overarching vision and mission of the project
  3. Developed a market systems development model tailored to the eye health sector’s unique challenges and opportunities in East Africa.
  4. Crafted detailed pilot project plans for implementation in Kenya & one other East Africa country

Design tasks undertaken:

  1. Conducted a detailed market network analysis, identifying systemic barriers, opportunities, and leverage points for intervention.
  2. Delivered Market Systems development ( MSD)training & mentoring to FHF East Africa staff, consisting of an introductory training to the MSD approach, and a deep-dive training to leverage on findings from the market network analysis.
