Christian Volker Ide joined Swisscontact in March 2019 as Team leader of the Skills Development Programme (SDP) in Cambodia. He is extremely passionate about his work and, for him, it is astounding to watch others develop their confidence, knowledge, and skills to achieve their goals.

After his Apprentice at Volkswagen AG in Germany in industrial electronics engineering - system technology, he completed his Bachelor Professional of Electrical Engineering and Operations at Volkswagen Academy and his Coordinator in International Project Management in Development Cooperation - Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief.

During the last 11 years, he supported GIZ Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs in cooperation with the Directorate for DVET under the Ministry of Labour in Vietnam, and GIZ TVET programs as an integrated expert at the Ministry of Industry Myanmar. Christian has over 11 years of practical experience with the management and implementation of skills development and TVET projects and programs on an institutional level, capacity development at a company level and Vocational Institutions, as well as Vocational System Reform Programs. Furthermore, he is the founder of Save the Families Souls e.V. and voluntarily implementing support with the focus on rural village-driven development projects, for over 10 years.
