The PROJES is part of the regional strategy of the European Union in the Center of Mali. PROJES general objective is to promote the stabilization and socio-economic revival of the Central Regions of Mali. The realization of such an objective entails the strengthening of the supply chain, access of people to basic services, support to social and community cohesion, but also the generation of income and jobs for the benefit of the concerned populations.
As part of this programme, funded by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for Africa, Swisscontact Mali has been asked by GIZ, Project Manager of the PROJES, to initiate and implement at least 26 IGA (Income Generating Activities) projects for the benefit of young boys and girls in the regions of Segou and Mopti. At the end of its PAFP IV program, Swisscontact Mali saw the opportunity to continue its activities in Mali on behalf of a very active partner in the Sub-region, while paying attention to the opportunities to launch new projects in 2019.
Swisscontact's three-month intervention in the PROJES is based on the identification of vocational training projects under the PAFP IV program, but whose final objectives had not been fully realized.
The current mandate will be implemented through a support system that aims at enhancing the technical capacities of the beneficiaries as well as developing their management skills in IGAs.
