Uttoron-Skills for better life project organized get-together event for the graduates working at Habiganj Industrial Park (PRAN-RFL group)

On 23 July, Uttoron-Skills for better life project organized a get together event at Habiganj Industrial Park to commend the 150 Uttoron graduates who are successfully continuing their jobs at PRAN-RFL group and to acknowledge the support of PRAN-RFL to Uttoron project.

Mr. Imam Hasan Akan, Assistant Manager (Field Community Engagement and Communications Corporate Affairs) of Chevron Bangladesh was present as Chief guest of this event. Among others, Mr. Hasan Md. Manzurul Haque, General Manager of Habiganj Industrial Park, Mr. Fazle Rabbi, General Manager of RFL, Mr. Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Technical Training and Development Centre (BTTDC) and Mr. Murad Ahmed, Senior Coordinator (Community Engagement Corporate Affairs) of Chevron Bangladesh were present as special guest. The get-together event was presided over by Mr. Mamunur Rahman, Team Leader of Uttoron project.

 

In his speech Mr. Akan, the chief guest, congratulated Uttoron graduates for continuing their job at PRAN-RFL and also thanked PRAN-RFL management for recruiting Uttoron graduates. Other speakers highly appreciated the initiative of Chevron to support the community people by funding Uttoron project and also praised Swisscontact for implementing Uttoron project in a professional manner. Two of the Uttoron graduates also shared their life changing story and requested Chevron to continue their support for their community in future as well.

As a token of gratitude, Uttoron project handed over honorary crests to the honorable General Managers of PRAN and RFL.  During this event Uttoron project also handed over crests to 15 graduates who are serving for the longest period in PRAN-RFL group.

 

Uttoron-Skills for better life, the three-year (2016-2019) skills development project, has successfully achieved its aim of enhancing employability for 1400 community youths from Sylhet, Moulavibazar and Habiganj. Till date total 1450 youths have completed skills training on different market demanded trades and 76% of the graduates are currently working in different industries. The project is funded by Chevron under Bangladesh Partnership Initiative (BPI) and is implemented by Swisscontact.
