Agribusiness Financing Facility

Indonesian farmers are largely excluded from formal financial services. In response to this situation,

SCPP and SECO codesigned the Agribusiness Financing Facility (AFF). The objective of AFF is to increase access to finance for cocoa farmers and strengthen financial institutions function within the Indonesia cocoa market. With better access to finance, it is expected that farmers can purchase better agri-inputs that are required for applying good agriculture practices.

AFF approach includes Financial Literacy Farmers for cocoa farmers to train them about financial planning, record keeping, and the promotion of savings. This knowledge transfer is packaged as Good Financial Practice (GFP) module. By the end of the Program, 91,626 farmers have received training on GFP with xx% adoption rate of recommended practices. On the financing service side, AFF trained financial institutions on the cocoa sector to enable financing service providers understand cocoa sector better therefore they could develop suitable financing products for cocoa farmers.
