The Youth Employment Project (YEP) signed agreements with Active Nepal and Sahayogi Samaj Nepal on 1st and 2nd July , 2019 respectively, to conduct the 2019 Enterprise Promotion Trainings (EPT). Active Nepal will conduct the training in Morang and Sunsari districts for 75 targeted youths while Sahayogi Samaj Nepal will target 75 youths from Sarlahi and Mahotari districts. The objective of the 2-weeks training is to provide youths with the basic understandings, concepts, and skill sets to become self-employed and to further coach them during the initial 6 months of their micro-entrepreneurship journey.
The intervention this year will benefit 150 youths from Sarlahi, Mahotari, Sunsari and Morang districts. Around 50% training participants will be selected from YEP’s Skill Development and Skills Enhancement trainings from 2017, 2018 and 2019. This will give an opportunity to those interested in self-employment within the past and present programs. Remaining 50% will be selected from the outside. About one third of the whole participants are expected to be women including migrant returnees who have interest and potential to become self-employed. The training will commence from 1st week of August.
