Launch of the Exchange and Consultation Framework for Vocational Training and Integration

The South Kivu province in DR Congo has officially adopted a Framework for the Exchange and Consultation of Actors in Vocational Training and Integration (FEC/VTI).

The launch activity took place on 13th September 2018 at Centre Régional de Paix du RIO/ECC, under the leadership of the Provincial Minister of Education, who is also in charge of vocational training, trades and crafts, and was facilitated by Swisscontact; the implementers of SDC's PROMOST project.

This framework for exchange and consultation is composed of 40 organizations working in 4 areas of vocational training: demand, supply, regulation and integration. Its collegial Coordination Committee elected by the member organizations is made up of 9 people who have a 2-year mandate.

Swisscontact hopes that the implementation of this platform will make it possible to use vocational training as a tool to improve the living conditions of the population, especially young people, in South Kivu province.
