A partnership agreement was signed between Swisscontact Bangladesh and Bangladesh Technical Training and Development Center (BTTDC), on 22 January 2020 at BTTDC Sylhet office, for delivery of skills training in Sylhet and Habiganj districts under the banner of Uttoron- Skills for better life project.

Uttoron-Skills for better life is a skills development project, funded by Chevron and implemented by Swisscontact. Impacting the lives of over 1,400 community youths in phase-I (2016-2019), through providing skills training in Sylhet division, Uttoron project aims to scale up the number in phase-II (2019-2022) up to 2,000 and expand the area, not confining to only Sylhet but also in Dhaka division. To make skills training sustainable, Swisscontact plays a facilitative role and partner with local training centers for delivery of skills training. Bangladesh Technical Training and Development Center (BTTDC) is one of such partner training providers of Uttoron project.

Under this partnership both BTTDC and Swisscontact will work together to train 1200 community youths from Sylhet and Habiganj districts on various industry-demanded trades and support them to secure gainful jobs. In addition, both parties will collaborate in establishing a permanent training center at a suitable place in Habiganj district with an aim that the center will run beyond the project period. The vision of building skilled workforce can only be achieved through making the provision of quality skills training effective and sustainable for the youths of Bangladesh.
