B-SkillFUL project organises capacity development training for Grassroots Organisations (GRO)

The training was organised for executing campaign activities in 5 project districts.

B-SkillFUL Phase I (2015 - 2019) is mandated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by Swisscontact. The project aims to improve the well-being of 20,000 poor and disadvantaged men and women by increasing their access to the labour market and enhancing their incomes, while safeguarding their fundamental rights at work. The project facilitates implementation of training programmes through local Training Service Providers (TSPs) in Gazipur, Tangail, Joypurhat, Bogra and Dinajpur on demand driven skills. B-SkillFUL also raises awareness amongst the graduates and informal sector enterprises on issues of Labour Rights and Decent Work.

The project started its implementation phase from May 2016. The first batch of training is expected to start from 16 August in Bogra while the remaining district trainings will begin from 1 October 2016. Prior to the enrolment of training, B-SkillFUL will organise an awareness campaign in five project areas. The objective is to disseminate the project’s message to the target groups and to motivate them to take part in the training. In order to orient the GRO members on project information and to develop content for campaign activities, the project organised a 5 day residential training for the GRO representative at BRAC Learning Centre, Savar. Expressions Limited acted as the communications partner to extend its expertise to the workshop content development.

40 GRO members successfully completed the training whereby they will execute the campaign activities starting from 18 September 2016 onwards.
