Companies reward apprentices for their performance

Companies in Albania have a difficult time to fill their vacancies with qualified workers. For this reason, ‘Skills for Jobs’ S4J has facilitated the cooperation between over 300 private sector companies and 6 vocational schools to offer apprenticeships to vocational education students in Vlora, Berat, Tirana, Lezha and Shkodra regions. To make it attractive both for companies and students ‘Skills for Jobs’ S4J supported companies in the ICT sector to design the remote apprenticeship scheme.

Gjeo-Vjosa is one of the Tirana-based companies offering apprenticeships remotely to 6 students from Industrial ‘Pavarësia’ School in Vlora (SHIP) and ‘Kolin Gjoka’ School in Lezha. In early June the CEO of Gjeo-Vjosa Mr. Spartak Likaj visited both schools to meet with the teacher and the management to share the impressions of the company staff about the apprentices and the added value this collaboration with VET providers brings to the company. On the occasion, Mr. Likaj handed over the Certificates of Completing the Apprenticeship Program to the apprentices for their professional achievements during this academic year. For his outstanding achievements, the company provided a small financial reward to Angjelo Tushi (SHIP).
