Central America
In El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua Swisscontact is promoting the market for small- and medium-sized enterprises services, in particular through further education courses. Small businesses are important employers and strengthening them is an effective weapon in the fight against poverty. In El Salvador, a vocational training project is carried out, which is designed to make it easier for young people to get a toe hold in the job market, and will also help to combat the rampant criminality.
