Welcome to Swisscontact - Indonesia
Swisscontact is an international development agency founded by the Swiss private sector, with over 30 years of experience in Indonesia. It has a track record for innovative, pragmatic approaches in vocational education and training, urban ecology and small and medium sized enterprise development.
Swisscontact aims to contribute to improved standards of living in Indonesia. It does this by promoting equitable access to economic participation for all parts of society through a more enabling environment for private sector development and by encouraging more ecologically-sensitive practices in the urban environment.
Cooperating with international private partners like ADM Cocoa, Armajaro, Cargill, Mars and Nestlé, the Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (SCPP) aims to develop sustainable agricultural value chains, focusing on local and regional levels. A total of 60,000 cocoa farmers, of which 20% are women, will benefit through capacity building in order to improve the productivity and quality of their cocoa production.
Through the WISATA project, Swisscontact supports the government and local communities to develop Flores as a travel destination and to attract visitors who enjoy adventure, culture and nature. The project aims to develop Flores as an internationally recognized tourist destination, while at the same time protecting its natural and cultural identity.
The overall objective of the RED Programme is to improve framework conditions, sector programs as well as planning and implementation processes for regional economic development. The project works on national level as well in pilot projects in three geographic regions.
