Our Senior Expert Corps (SEC) volunteers impart their extensive professional skills and knowledge where needed during their service. Through these efforts, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and institutions in developing countries and Eastern Europe receive professional and affordable support.
SMEs, education or training institutes, and other organisations in developing countries and Eastern Europe can request an SEC volunteer if they need technical expertise to overcome business and structural impediments, but cannot afford this at market prices.
Each year, roughly 140 SMEs and institutions benefit from an SEC intervention. Today, more than 700 technical experts, ranging from craftsmen to hotel manageresses all the way to marketing specialists, are sharing their expertise and valuable professional experience. Since 1979, the SEC has carried out more than 2,000 consulting interventions. Our experts have provided roughly 800,000 hours of service in these efforts. This is equal to an estimated 30 million Swiss francs.
