His first visit was to Jhangajholi Raatmata in Sindhuli district, one of the working areas of Skills for Safe Reconstruction Project (SSRP), implemented by Swisscontact and funded by Swiss Solidarity. During his monitoring visit, Dr. Govinda Raj Pokharel observed the houses built by masons during On the Job Training provided by SSRP. He appreciated the fact that masons were being trained on earthquake resistant technology and motivated them to continue their role in the reconstruction work. He interacted with quake victims to know more about the statuses of grants provided by the Government of Nepal.
Dr. Govinda Raj Pokharel also interacted with Swisscontact personnel and enquired about the progress of SSRP and employment statuses of trained masons. Overall, he was pleased with the progress and thanked Swisscontact for the contribution to the reconstruction work in Sindhuli district.
