Enterprise Development Day held in Mawlamyine, Mon State on 9th December 2017

Entrepreneurship Development Network Asia (Myanmar) organized an Enterprise Development Day in Mawlamyine, Mon State on 9th December 2017. The objective of this event was to celebrate the graduation of Learners attending the Entrepreneurship Development Program in Mon and Kayin States, as well as their business development and inspiring stories. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) finances the Program through the Vocational Skills Development Program (VSDP), being implemented by Swisscontact.

Swisscontact implements 12-week long vocational training courses for disadvantaged women and men in the South East of Myanmar. The VSDP has financed EDNA Myanmar to implement the Entrepreneurship Development Program for VSDP graduates and local aspiring entrepreneurs. The Program aims to train 500 VSDP graduates and non-graduates in Mon and Kayin States and support the launch and early development of their start-up business.

The highlight of the Enterprise Development Day event was the announcement of the “Enterprise Establishment Awards”. The awards were given to 12 graduates from the third and fourth training batches. The winners of the awards were selected based on:
