With 13 employees, Swisscontact's country office in Macedonia is responsible for implementation of the IME Programme focusing on creating opportunities for working age women and men, in particular young, to be engaged in sustainable, decent employment or self-employment and/or to be earning higher incomes.

Increasing Market Employability Programme

Increasing Market Employability (IME) programme aims to create jobs and increase incomes for unemployed and underemployed women and men in Macedonia, with a particular focus on youth. The expected key results of the programme are to create more than 2,000 jobs, with special consideration to employment opportunities for youth and women, and increase the net income of more than 1,000 companies by €1.5 million over a period of 4 years.

Swiss Entrepreneurship Programme

The program aims at linking existing public and private actors as well as existing support structures (e.g. start-up competitions, service providers) to facilitate the formation and potential growth of businesses. The focus is on supporting business driven initiatives and solutions. By improving the framework conditions and readiness for entrepreneurs, the program aims at creating 4,000 jobs directly by the end of 2019.
