WISATA supports 4 destinations in BBTF 2017

Swisscontact Indonesia had the opportunity to present WISATA II, a tourism development project for selected destinations in Indonesia funded by the Swiss State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO), at Indonesia’s largest annual travel fair, Bali & beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2017 from 7th to 11th June at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre, Nusa Dua.

Thousands of Cocoa Farmers in Southeast Sulawesi Receive 5.8 Billion Rupiah in Premiums for Its Certified Cocoa Beans sold in 2015

On the 25 of July 2016, thousands of Southeast Sulawesi cocoa farmers received a total of 5.8 Billion Rupiah in premium fees for their UTZ certified cocoa beans sales. Through the local cooperative and UTZ certificate holder, Koperasi Gabungan Gapoktan (KGG), the farmers had been inspected and passed on several steps of quality assurance to ensure compliance with the voluntary certification standard of UTZ Certified, making them eligible for the premiums.

SCPP’s Aceh cocoa farmers receive premiums for the 1st time for certified cocoa beans sales

JeBe KOKO, a subsidiary of JB Foods Limited, in collaboration with Swisscontact’s Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (SCPP), distributes premiums for certified cocoa beans for 152 MT of traceable cocoa beans to the Koka Jaya Cooperative. The combination of disbursing premium payments and utilizing a local cooperative such as KKJ as a management unit of the UTZ sustainable farm certificate, brings the greatest benefits and added value to all parties involved: the industry, the cooperative and the cocoa farmers.

Swiss Government Commitment for Promoting Sustainable Cocoa Value Chain in Indonesia

Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Marie‐Gabrielle Ineichen‐Fleisch, visited the heart of Indonesia’s cocoa production, Mamuju in West Sulawesi, to review the progress of Switzerland’s partnership with the Indonesian Government, local smallholder cocoa farmers, and the private sector for the promotion of a sustainable cocoa value chain in the country.

Sustainable Cocoa Production Program Launching Towards Development in Indonesian Cocoa Sector

Swisscontact Consortium and Millennium Challenge Account – Indonesia (MCA-Indonesia) announced a partnership called Green Prosperity – Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (GP-SCPP) with the overall goal to reduce poverty and greenhouse gas emissions in the Indonesian cocoa sector. Signed on 31 March 2015 in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, the partnership combines equal investment from the consortium and MCA-I and will bring USD 15 million to the cocoa sector in Indonesia.

ADM Cocoa & Swisscontact Distribute Premiums and Loyalty Bonuses to Individual Cocoa Farmers through Farmer Cooperative

ADM Cocoa, in collaboration with Swisscontact’s Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (SCPP), distributes premiums for certified cocoa beans and loyalty bonuses for 739 MT traceable cocoa beans to the Koperasi Gabungan Gapoktan (KGG) cooperative. The combination of disbursing premium payments and utilizing a local cooperative as UTZ farm certificate holder brings the most possible benefits and added value to all parties involved: the industry, the cooperative and the cocoa farmers.
